Some of the Buffy fic I've Been Enjoying
Aug. 22nd, 2020 05:16 pmI've been reading jack shit with only a few exceptions, which is why I can do what I'm about to do and sweep up three months of reccables backlog into one post.

spaghetti is harder than you think by toyhdgehog (Fuffy, not rated - T?, 465 words, complete)
A bit of Fuffy fluff is good for the soul. :)
jenny calendar's guide to inter-house unity by The_Eclectic_Bookworm (Harry Potter fusion, Jenny/Remus Lupin, Scoobies, G, 26,510 words, WIP!)
This made me all kinds of happy! All the baby Scoobies are adorable and making friends and getting the support they need. Also, Jenny/Remus? Inspired. The story does deal with the fridge horror of Harry's canon life with the Dursleys, so it's not all fluff - but I really enjoyed that part too.
Tutor by Holly (Spuffy, NC-17, 29,014 words, complete). AO3 link.
Only the best and finest Enemies With Benefits tropes in Holly's capable hands. Makes me grin nonstop.
Is This Just Fantasy? by zabjade (Spuffy, PG, ~500 words, complete)
Sweet post-series reunion vignette. I thought Buffy's state of mind felt real and believable, and the story gave me all of the feels. :)
It's a great story, don't by Double Dutchess and a neural network named GPT-2 (Spuffy, G, 1271 words, complete)
Delightful! My favorite part was when the neural network dove into some enthusiastic, gratuitous character bashing.
A Guy Can Dream by thewiggins (Spuffy, M, ~1100 words, complete). DW link.
A fun and interesting parallel between Spuffy and some Norse mythology. (By "fun", I mean appropriately heart-wrenching for a season 6 story.)
The Paper Incursion by Myrabeth (Spuffy, M, 8950 words, complete). LJ link.
Clever and fun, with a lovely, gentler enemies-to-friends-to-lovers kind of Spuffy. Author's summary: "Every birthday since she was called, she receives a letter from someone who seems to know what the year will bring. Vague hints. A word or two of advice. Helpful. Appreciated. Frustrating. And all from the greatest enemy she has ever known."

Nicolette Says Jump by kalima (Spike & Xander, M, 18,099 words, complete)
Barb C recced this somewhere, and it's... a journey. :))) It's amazing. I enjoyed it a whole lot.
There Are More of Us Than You Think by Knight Ranger (Jenny Calendar, K+, 797 words, complete)
Technopagans on the internet in the 90s! \o/

Date: 2020-08-22 08:09 pm (UTC)Thanks for the list! Although it took me a minute to figure out what "Fuffy" was. I actually lowkey ship Buffy/Faith.* Also, as it happens, spaghetti's on the menu for dinner tonight. Not a huge Spuffy shipper, but I'm open to the idea. :)
*When I watched Buffy for the first time, years after the season finale aired, I had very little fandom exposure. I think I knew there was a character named Faith, but I might have assumed she was another witch. Watching season three, I really felt there was something going on between Faith and Buffy, they seemed to have chemistry, but wondered if it was just me. Turns out even Eliza Dushku played Faith as having a thing for Buffy! In any case, yeah, I approve that ship.
